Depending mainly on the receiving computer's connection speed, the numerous clips on this page may take anywhere from several seconds to a few minutes to become visible. There's also a large "wav" music file that runs in the background on Internet Explorer browsers. For those who were in Canyon Lake in the 1990's, video presentations became a familiar sight on Gate88.com around 1996. Video clips of Canyon Lake were actually some of the first community-based video presentations in Riverside County. Gate88.com also presented the first large community based website of its kind in Southwest Riverside County, including numerous Canyon Lake images (photos of lake scenes, the Canyon Lake parks, the facilities for horses including equestrian arenas, the golf course and country club, and so on.) Photos of boating scenes were most popular, followed by the country club and golf course (home of the Canyon Lake Golf Club); and the homes in Canyon Lake. (The real estate section of Gate88.com included numerous movies (movie clips) of homes, and many images of lake scenes. Most of the boating scenes were from short video clips taken all around Canyon Lake, and some were taken in conjunction with the lodge and pool in the foreground. The equestrian center photos and video clips of that time were extremely popular, including short sections of movie clips of horses playfully interacting in the equestrian center's arenas. The country club scenes in those years were mostly photos and video clips of the area right around the golf club's main amenities just off Railroad Canyon Road. Other golf (and general country club) related scenes in those years were taken when showing the surrounding areas of homes that were then for sale. Many houses in Canyon Lake were built on lots that adjoin the golf club's fairways, and some are very near the county club itself. For those unfamiliar with Canyon Lake: The lodge is located near the center of the residential area (homes -several along the lake itself - line the street of Canyon Club drive which leads to the lodge and the community pool. There is a family-friendly park near the lodge (family oriented play and beach areas, and lodge-side pool). Some of the video clips on this page show the lodge and the family areas just mentioned. Some of the lake scenes in the above video clips were also taken from or near the lodge.
